Large rooms, perfect location and free breakfast!
Savannah, Georgia
Savannah, Georgia

Last month, we packed up our toddler, all the snacks and an unnecessary amount of toys for a long weekend in Savannah, Georgia with friends. The trip itself was amazing, but one of the biggest wins? The SpringHill Suites Savannah Downtown. When you’re traveling with a little one, finding a hotel that checks all the boxes (without breaking the bank) is amazing. Here’s why this spot was a total parenting win.

Location, location…sanity-saving location

When you're hauling a toddler, the last thing you want is to be miles away from the action. This hotel is right in the heart of downtown Savannah, within walking distance of:

  • The trolley tours, which are the best way to learn about the history of Savannah with a little kid in tow.

  • Jepson Children’s Art Museum (read my review here!)

  • Tons of great restaurants and shops (my apologies again to the staff of Midge when my son hid in the clothes while I was in the dressing room).

Bonus: No need for Ubers! Because wrangling a car seat (and then carting it around) is not my idea of vacation.

Lobby that delivers on the relaxing part of vacation

Savannah is an artsy town (thanks, SCAD!), and this hotel leans right into that vibe. The lobby? Gorgeous. Tons of seating, cool decor, and best of all—a market stocked with snacks, drinks, and, yes, beer and wine for parents who need a reward after a long day of toddler negotiations.

We always bring snacks, but somehow they disappear within hours. So having a lobby market where we could restock without leaving the hotel? A serious game-changer.

Spacious rooms that won’t have you tripping over a stroller

When we travel, we always try to book a suite. Why? Because trying to put a toddler to bed while you’re six inches away watching Netflix on your phone is not fun.

The rooms here are huge. While it’s not a true two-room suite, there’s a half-wall and desk separating the sleeping area from the living space, which helped us fake the whole "separate room" situation. Plus, we had plenty of room to store our car seat, stroller and all of the candy and toys we were conned into buying.

10/10 recommend if you need space to spread out (and, you know, breathe).

Free breakfast that doesn’t feel like a sad afterthought

Nothing fuels a day of family travel quite like a good (read: actually edible) free hotel breakfast. This one did not disappoint:

  • Waffle maker because who doesn’t like to make their own waffle with one of these?

  • Hot and cold options so everyone finds something to eat.

  • Alternative milks – ask me about my oat milk cafe au lait!

Hotel breakfasts can sometimes feel a little "meh," but this one totally delivered. And not having to hunt down a breakfast spot saved us time, money, and the inevitable “I’M HUNGRY” meltdown.

Final Verdict? We’d Stay Here Again in a Heartbeat.

If you’re heading to Savannah with kids, the SpringHill Suites Savannah Downtown is a solid choice. The location is perfect, the rooms are huge, and the breakfast is A+.

Have you stayed here? What’s your must-have hotel amenity when traveling with little ones? Tell me in the comments!
